I just LOVE this Lylif necklace! I created this whole outfit around it, in fact. It turned out to be perfect for running my day errands - sending out giveaway packages, getting my new watch re-sized, picking up groceries and getting coffee. The jewelry and heels glammed it up, but otherwise it's very casual. And since I feel like I'm not working out enough these days, heels are a fun way to make my legs work a little harder :P
You can probably tell the clouds were moving in and out. In fact, some of our photos (I didn't post) were so dark and dreary that it looks like another world entirely! ...Seriously these rain clouds have been hovering over the bay for weeks! They're making my life so hard since I pretty much refuse to take photos in bad weather conditions. Let's just say I'm lucky I live in California, otherwise I'm sure it would be worse!
I have found myself shopping online more than anything lately, so when I went to the mall last week and stopped by Forever 21, I was shocked and so excited at all the new merchandise (for REALLY low prices too of course!). Do you ever have a full season go by where you pretty much loathe all the trends? This has happened to me a few times in the last 5 years. I'm so glad I love the trends right now - little white dresses, mesh, floral print, one shoulders, high low skirts, peplum, sherbert hues, etc. What's your favorite Spring 2012 trend?

There's something about high low skirts that are just so perfect. Magical, romantic, whimsical, I love them. They're better than mini skirts, better than maxis and all those in between.

If you have a high low skirt, how do you style it? I personally like the strapless top + high low skirt look a lot, but generally I think tops tucked in look well with them too. The only problem is, it really highlights the waist line. And we all have our days where we do NOT want to highlight that waistline... ha ha. I actually have 3 more high low skirts/dresses to style for you guys, can't wait :)

Do you know what I've been eating/enjoying a lot this month? No, you will never guess... Rubios! That's right, Rubios fish tacos are soooo amazing. And they have "Taco Tuesday" where their tacos are only $1.50. It's a great deal :) (Though, unfortunately, as my sister just informed me... very high calorie!!!)
Oh and I've been quite obsessed with watching the Walking Dead with my boyfriend. I'm not a fan of horror, but it's kind of addicting. We're already halfway through Season 2. (Daryl is my favorite character! Though I already liked him from the Boondock Saints) And it's really nice because since I have a new car I get to park in the garage and I don't have to worry about the scary walk to the front door :)

I notice a lot of girls wearing tops with cut outs in the back... without a bra. I'm not that brave! But a great alternative is a fun colored bra like this pink one I have on. :) What do you think? Is showing your bra with shirt cutouts too risque for you? Or shirt cutouts, alone -- out of your comfort zone?I think it adds some fun!

I was supposed to see the Hunger Games today, but that got moved to next weekend. Have you seen it and did you like it? I have heard a lot of good things, but I actually have one friend who walked out halfway through because he thought it was so bad! Wow, right? The only movies I have ever wanted to walk out on were Epic Movie and Sin City!!

I LOVE warm weather. I especially like sunlight but you wouldn't guess it with my crazy sleeping schedule!! Sometimes I go to bed at the crack of dawn, not because I can't sleep, but because I always have so much to do (I work from home too) and have a hard time stopping. And then I miss out on 8 whole hours of sunlight. Boo.
This lovely dress covered in flower print was sent to me by one of my sponsors, Queen's Wardrobe. It was actually a miscommunication, and when I received it I was incredibly worried because it seemed so shapeless. And not only that, I was sure I didn't have a belt to match! But alas, I remembered this blue belt I bought probably 5 years ago on sale at Nordstrom Rack, thinking that of course I would wear it, but no - I never did! And yet here it came it to the rescue because I realized it matched perfectly with this dress!
Has this happened to you? "They" always say to toss anything you haven't worn in a year, but I disagree. I say toss it if it doesn't fit right after too much wear, you realize the color isn't for you after all, you don't want it and totally missed the 30 day refund window, or you have absolutely no more storage space.
It's worked out for me thus far - because quite honestly, trends cycle and what if you didn't get out of the house as much as you expected? Impromptu events come up, life is full of surprises! Not tossing stuff you haven't used recently (but still see potential in) is one way to be prepared for the unknown, (or maybe just to become a pack rat. Ha.). Anyways, let me know what you think about it!

All week I have literally been dying for sunlight to poke out through the dense gloomy clouds and rain. And poke out it did... for a brief moment around noon. Yay! And well, I know this outfit is a bit matchy-matchy, but I think you can tell I don't often go wild with my outfits. I like simple, clean, classy and chic looks, and I think this one fits the bill :)
I actually bought this short sleeved blazer with a peplum like style and shoulder pads for my college advertising final presentation the spring of 2010. I needed a power suit and wore it with black slacks, a white blouse, red nails and BCBG pumps that I bought just for the special day. I felt amazing and delivered the best presentation of my life to over 200 people. Really, a presentation is about everything-- not just what you say and how you say it, but how you look really counts. Wear something that makes you feel proud and confident so you can deliver to the best of your ability. ❤
