Stripes

My favorite kinds of outfits are the ones that look equally great with heels or flats. A bodycon sweater dress is one of those [in my personal opinion], and if you really want to balance it out, a nicy pony or bun would work even better. So yup as you can guess I wore this dress and heels for just a tiny while, then decided my Dolce Vita slip ons + my favorite Abercrombie denim shirt would be even better for some casual downtown shopping and dining.

Who has plans for Independence Day? Every year for the last few years I've been going camping with my boyfriend's family for July 4th. I'm really excited and totally geared up this year with a Coleman instant tent, battery powered fans [it gets hot!!], healthy campfire recipes and movies to watch on my Ipad. Oh my gosh and so many more things, since I basically went camping-crazy-shopping-on-amazon this past week. I definitely won't forget my camera this time too. I actually have a couple great patriotic looks I want to show you guys in the next few days so stay tuned :)

Waimanalo Beach

My boyfriend shot these of me while on the beautiful Waimanalo Beach, well known as the longest sandy stretch in Oahu. It was a patchy sky that day so the sun kept going in and out. We had so much fun watching the little crabs crawl in and out of their holes on the sand. I tried to get a picture but they were really scared of us so we never get closer than 4 feet :( It's random moments like that when I wish I had a zoom lens!

I actually had a tailor sew in light padding on the top and double line the bottom because the material is very thin. I love the metallic bronze color though and the metal ornament on the top is a great modern touch. Lately I've been looking more and more into really unique one pieces though because I feel like they are more complimentary to my body shape.

Summer Strolls

Isn't this top just adorable? I would wear it everyday if I could get away with it. Decidedly went with a kind of farmer's market look yesterday, and oh these heeled Coach sandals are just the comfiest height givers ever! They are from last, last year? Oh my... but they still look new to me. I wish they had made them in more colors too because I would probably have gotten them all.

These high waist denim shorts from Joes Jeans are also amazing. They are the only pair of high waist denim my boyfriend has ever liked on me. So there you have it. A+

Sweet summery look for you guys. I love that this dress is so perfect for the beach but when worn with more polished accessories - works for more regular day to day activities. The top part is also so well structured you don't need a bra!

Pristine Perfection

My new Black Swan dress is classy, modern and cute... which in turn means that it is the perfect party dress, any time of year. I did get the bottom hemmed about three inches (as you can tell, I visit the tailors a lot!) and I think the length is now perfect. Originally I was going to go with an all white look (again hehe) but decided to throw some gold and black in the mix. You might notice I finished my nails, and I must say the bold blue is a nice little touch.

Tennis Court

Sporty, cute and feminine look for you guys this fabulousss weekend. I felt a bit like a tennis player but hey nothing wrong with that :) This dress (also available in black) is really TOO cute and would also go well with some platform sandals. I like how it is white but not totally see through and it isn't even double lined. Weather has been pretty darn hot lately so my boyfriend and I were kind of dying as we shot this. SO glad for car air conditioning :) My sisters still drive old cars and they don't have air conditioning. It is a NECESSITY! And I'm being a baby saying that in California - what about all you folks with 100 degree summers?

I hope you can tell my Andy Toms are shiny. I seriously love the patent touch. They are very comfy but took some breaking into on my left foot. Also if you notice my nails, only one hand is painted. When I paint my own nails I usually do one hand a day. Because it takes too long to dry and I NEED one hand at all times!!!

The Perfect Summer to Fall Dress

This Black Swan dress is so SOFT. I belted it to give it more shape but seriously the dress is as comfy as a night gown. I really adore the floral stitching detail and the fluffy underlayer around the bottom of the dress too. I think in retrospect I should have picked white, but the good thing about gray is that it will work great for fall with a heavy cardi and some thick tights!

Now most of you would likely never guess that this dress was hemmed. Because of course it doesn't look like it can be, right?! My local alterations ladies are so amazing - they took it apart around the waist and removed material that way - probably taking off about 3 inches. The altered length works better for my 5'4" frame :)
