New REEF rashguard and bikini bottoms - c/o Swimspot, bracelets - c/o Poshlocket, sunnies - Charlotte Russe
A few years ago I saw a few people stand up paddle boarding in Hawaii. It was serene. The water was smooth and they were quietly rowing under the summer sun. I had to try it...So FINALLY this summer in Hawaii I got the chance, and let's just say, it's NOT serene. It's tough! My sister fell in 5 times :P And if there's wind, it will make you work hard not to go past the buoys. It's a great workout though and super fun too :)
I love that Swimspot was able to send me this awesome rashguard and matching bottoms from Reef while I was still in Hawaii. Last minute gift :) Rashguards are great for protecting you from the sun, keeping you a teensy bit warmer if the water is cold, and also keeping the sand on a boogie board or surf board from scratching up your tummy.

Skirt - c/o Romwe, New top - American Apparel, heels - Boutique 9, belt - c/o Oasap, bracelet - c/o Oia Jules, sunglasses - c/o Vivilli
So of course since we were overlooking a boat harbor from our hotel, the Ilikai, every day, I just had to do a nautical shoot, using stripes and a short flowy skirt! Stripes look amazing paired with white, navy, pink or red, as I showed you here in white and light pink! So fun!

And if you've been keeping up with my Instagram - @hapatime - you must have seen the stunning shots of the Waikiki Marina boat harbor view from our hotel too!

The random pic of the cat was just as random in person... apparently him and his friend are what the boaters call "dock kitties" and they've been living on the dock ever since they were stranded as babies. So cute. He kept following us. :)
And now for the winner of the Sira and Mara USA giveaway - congrats to Raelena of Throuthehaze Reads. Sira and Mara will be contacting you soon!

Friday, August 24, 2012New bracelets - c/o Poshlocket, bikini - Guess [top and bottom], sunglasses - Target, necklace - Amazon [similar: 1, 2, 3], watch - Fossil [similar: 1, 2, 3], ring - Mexico [similar: 1, 2, 3]
I'm officially back home in California, and it feels good. There is nothing like your own bed. But then again, I will have to start missing Hawaii again til next year. ;)
And I just want to let all of my fabulously dedicated Hapa Time readers that my goal for the month of September will be to post every.single.day. FYI so you guys don't miss anything :)
(I don't go in the water wearing all this bling by the way. The Poshlocket bracelets are the only jewelry I own that won't get ruined by water. And I put links in for similar items of what I'm wearing, but I definitely don't expect anyone to be buying a $660 necklace or $400 ring. I just thought they were both pretty!!)

This trip has turned out so differently from how I dreamed it would be 7 months ago. I never imagined getting the flu for the first 10 days of my trip, seeing a doctor for a terrible cough or getting stung by a bee my second day of laying on the beach, only 5 minutes into my book! Oh but that's not to say I am not enjoying my trip - no, no, no. I love Hawaii. No trip can ever be perfect, though I've had a few come very close. It's very important to always make the best of what you have, and I can't ignore the fact of how very lucky I am to even be here at all.
I love the soft sand, clear blue water, pretty fish, friendly locals, entertainers along Waikiki, fun activities (para-sailing, banana boating, snorkeling, boogie boarding, swimming, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, surfing), amazing Hawaiian food, fireworks, fresh pineapple everywhere I turn, random celeb spotting (my sis saw Kim Kardashian in our hotel the other night), the incredible view of our condo and endless opportunities for fun fashion shots! Oh the list goes on... but I don't want to bore you ;)
This outfit felt like structured casual. And my ring, sent to me by Rings and Tings, is just so cute and retro! I had fun walking in heels, but eventually changed to pretty sandals. P.S. Giveaways are getting lined up again. Keep watch! :)
