NatureBox Giveaway: Win 6 Months of Gourmet Snacks

fashion blog

Snacking is one of the best ways to sneak in some extra nutrients, maintain blood sugar and prevent overeating at mealtimes. "The Journal of Nutrition" reports that approximately 97 percent of Americans snack, and about 24 percent of their calories are from snacks [February 2010]. When snacking is clearly such a huge part of our lives, having and choosing healthy options is crucial. And everyone should have easy access to healthy snacks, anytime, anywhere.

Traditionally healthy snacks usually take preparation. Sometimes they need refrigeration. They can quickly become boring and unappetizing. But imagine an almost endless array of healthy, uniquely creative and delicious snacks at the tip of your fingers. With a little browsing and the click of a few buttons they can arrive right at your door.

Check out Naturebox. They do all the work for you, seriously. (Which is why they are best for the busy person always on the run - students, moms, etc.) All you have to do is sign up, set up a payment system, and just like that, you will start getting 5 different gourmet snacks every month. The more months you purchase at once, the more you can save per box. You can pick 5 or they can pick for you. If you aren't ready to make a commitment, they are offering one free box just for signing up. Check out their free trial here :) Of course, these snacks are not meal replacements, so 5 should be enough. Each bag has 3 to 5 servings. If 5 isn't enough, simply sign up for more. I love that for every box they sell, they donate 1 meal through the Feeding America organization. Did you know that hunger is an issue for 1 in 6 Americans?

Naturebox takes every diet and taste restriction into account as well. Want flax? Are you vegan or gluten-free? Their snacks contain: No High Fructose Corn Syrup, No Partially Hydrogenated Oils, No Trans Fats, No Artificial Sweeteners, No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Colors. The variety is really impressive (over 100 snacks to choose from) and they are always introducing new snacks to their collection!

Pictured above clockwise from top: 1. Mango Orange Fruit Chews, 2. French Toast Granola, 3. California Peaches, 4. Dark Cocoa Nom Noms

My personal favorites so far include: Sriracha Roasted Cashews, Kung Pao Pretzels and Mango Orange Fruit Chews. Some of the best places to stash snacks are: A) office/desk (it's easy to get caught up working and forget to eat), B) kitchen - instinctual place to go for food, C) bag - when you're on the go it's best to have something on you and D) car - sometimes there really is no where decent to stop. Snacks are also perfect for the traveling type too, when you're on the plane for 5 hours, waiting for a ride, etc.

Alex and Ani bracelet stack [Sand, Bark Eden, Constellation, Star of Venus, Nile, Path of Life, Open Love], Kimchi Blue romper [available in black] Also similar: 1, 2, 3, Banana Republic hat, last year's Express jacket [similar: 1, 2, 3], last year's Aldo booties [similar: 1, 2, 3], last year's Fransescas purse [similar], Edge of Ember necklace

You guys can probably tell by now that my style changes based on how I feel. I always go for the feminine, classy and modern vibe with a hint of smexy but still my looks tend to vary a lot! For this look I was feeling seriously boho, and maybe it was all because of my absolutely gorgeous new Alex and Ani bracelets.

What I love most other than their bohemian and free flowing vibe is that Alex and Ani creates bangles made of sustainable materials and each bangle actually means something! Their bangles come with a meaning card that explains the significance of each piece and allows you to relate it to important life events, feelings, etc. Prices are affordable at $28-$78. Excited they are also expanding to create necklaces, earrings and rings :)

If you have a little white romper or dress this is a great way to style it for fall, at least while it is still warm! I have a couple more little white dresses I want to hurry and show you before it really cools down. We had the most random pouring rain from 4 am to 11 am yesterday morning before it was back to sunny but I'm hoping it doesn't happen again for awhile. Also if you noticed, I did my makeup a little differently today. I finally got the Urban Decay Basics palette and did a softer smoky eye than usual. I personally love it, what do you think?

Have a great weekend!

Nordstrom Rack: 1State Blazer [similar], H by Bordeaux shirt [similar], Earrings [all Nordstrom Rack earrings] | Pacsun leggings | DailyLook heels [similar] | Leopard clutch [similar: 1, 2]

Currently, I’m loving menswear-inspired looks with feminine touches, like metallic and leather fabrics, and prints against solid white. A shopping trip at Nordstrom Rack last weekend inspired me to put together this outfit.  I'd definitely call this yet another summer to fall look... but you know it's pretty toasty still and I just might take a dip in the pool tomorrow if I have time. It is really still that hot.

Blazers can make almost any outfit instantly chic. With that said, so can leather looking leggings. Combine the two and you can't go wrong. Unless of course your shirt doesn't cover your bum. Now there you might need to take a firm look at yourself and say hey that isn't classy.

A white tee made in the softest fabric with a perfect cut and cut outs in the back? Are you kidding me? This top was an amazing find, a originally $78 top, I grabbed it for $27. You can never have enough basics.

Though on the other hand, I am finding the use of prints.... very USEFUL! They can make an outfit so much more interesting. Especially mixing two different prints together. So, I have recently embraced prints and will be trying to incorporate them more often into my posts. It's a little challenge and I don't think I've been taking enough challenges lately.

Thank you Nordstrom Rack for sponsoring this post.

Have a great day all!

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Flamingo and Always Sharp Lip Liner in Fuchsia, [Similar] Blouse, [Similar] Skirt, Juicy Couture bag [similar], DailyLook heels, Prada sunglasses, Stella and Dot Becca Bracelet, Express belt

Winter with a splash of summer. Don't ever be afraid to use hints of a bright color, like pink, to brighten and tie an otherwise very dark look together :)

Speaking of pink, I'm wearing my brand new Smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Flamingo and Always Sharp Lip Liner in Fuchsia thanks to #Chictopia.  What I absolutely love about their lip liner is how smoothly it goes on, and you never have to sharpen it, as with a single pump the liner will nudge up a millimeter. Like their gloss as I mentioned in a previous post - it can last up to 8 hours! It is even water-resistant though I personally wipe anything off my lips before eating and drinking :)

Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner is perfect for creating the perfect pout. With a great liner, concealer and technique you can create more defined, maximized, minimized or more balanced lip shape. You can use darker colors to maximize your lips and lighter colors to minimize as well. Something to be aware of is that there is no right or wrong lip shape, it is simply whatever works best for your features to create the most flattering look overall. Learning how to balance your face with makeup is one of the most crucial steps to utilizing makeup to your best ability.

Last but not least - I am a guest judge in their new SHAPEMATTERS Dramatic Makeup Contest! All you have to do is create a GIF by uploading a few pics. It's super easy! Check it out for a chance to win free makeup!

Happy Tuesday!

Sheinside coat [Similar: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5], Francescas shirt [similar], Bebe boyfriend shorts [Similar: 1, 2], Ivanka Trump heels [Similar: 1, 2], Etienne Aigner Stag Bag, Whiting and Davis chain bracelet, MAC Rebel lipstick

Enter a gorgeous bronze and deep red Stag Bag from Etienne Aigner into my closet and of course, I just can't wait to throw together yet another summer to fall friendly look. Layer a nice black coat over a printed top with some boyfriend shorts, heels/booties and boxy bag and you're good to go.

I'm on the hunt for some really great new coats, bags, sweaters, scarves, hats and boots for fall. There is no such thing as enough... STUFF!! Although I'm truly running out of hallway space to store my extra goodies. And yes I know...hallways should never be used for storage... :(

Have a great weekend folks!

Me: Outfit 1: Urban Outfitters lace romper, Tart Collections Sabine Wrap
Outfit 2: Lulus crop top [similar], Brandy Melville shorts, Steve Madden booties
Outfit 3: Blouse [similar], Joes Jeans shorts

Mike: Outfit 1: H&M henley, Zara denim
Outfit 2: Zara denim shirt, Zara shorts

A few weeks ago Hannah Suh, a Bay Area wedding and engagement photographer, contacted me about modeling (just for fun) in this super adorable tree house she found on Airbnb. I checked out her portfolio and fell in love with her work. Mike was down so we planned it out and made it happen. The owners were so kind to let us shoot there, and I was really amazed to find that you can actually rent it out and stay there overnight, like a fairy tale hotel.

Hannah's friend, Kiana Underwood, has a flower arrangement business called Tulipina and gave us a couple of really beautiful flower crowns to use for the shoot. From the decor, to the location, the props, meeting and working with a very talented Hannah and getting some amazing shots with Mike (who really is camera shy), it truly was an enchanting experience. To top it off, after the shoot we decided to check out downtown Burlingame which quite instantly became one of my new favorite local places. It seemed to be recently renovated and everything about it was so cute, clean and just really appealing overall.

Hope you guys enjoyed this different kind of post today!
TGIF!
XOXO
