New dress - Queens Wardrobe, shoes - Steve Madden Dynemite, purse - Aldo, bracelet - sister, sunglasses - Vogue
I LOVE warm weather. I especially like sunlight but you wouldn't guess it with my crazy sleeping schedule!! Sometimes I go to bed at the crack of dawn, not because I can't sleep, but because I always have so much to do (I work from home too) and have a hard time stopping. And then I miss out on 8 whole hours of sunlight. Boo.
This lovely dress covered in flower print was sent to me by one of my sponsors, Queen's Wardrobe. It was actually a miscommunication, and when I received it I was incredibly worried because it seemed so shapeless. And not only that, I was sure I didn't have a belt to match! But alas, I remembered this blue belt I bought probably 5 years ago on sale at Nordstrom Rack, thinking that of course I would wear it, but no - I never did! And yet here it came it to the rescue because I realized it matched perfectly with this dress!
Has this happened to you? "They" always say to toss anything you haven't worn in a year, but I disagree. I say toss it if it doesn't fit right after too much wear, you realize the color isn't for you after all, you don't want it and totally missed the 30 day refund window, or you have absolutely no more storage space.
It's worked out for me thus far - because quite honestly, trends cycle and what if you didn't get out of the house as much as you expected? Impromptu events come up, life is full of surprises! Not tossing stuff you haven't used recently (but still see potential in) is one way to be prepared for the unknown, (or maybe just to become a pack rat. Ha.). Anyways, let me know what you think about it!

I love finding old surprises in my closet (stuff I haven't worn in years) and especially if it works with the current trends! I'm just as happy as buying something new, hehe :) I love the print on the dress, it's super adorable and not wallpapery. I love your glasses too! chic!

SPRING!! :) love the flowers. The dress looks great and the belt goes perfectly! I agree on not tossing things away. Trends do recycle. If only I had kept those baby blue capris..haha. nah they got way too old! But I did keep the baby pink ones :) I tend to keep things, but like I mentioned in my previous blog post on closet organization, I really do have to sort through those clothes and find another place for them- either charity or storage!

I really love this dress. The florals are perfect for spring and the colors aren't overbearing. I also agree about not getting rid of stuff just because you haven't worn it recently. I SOOO wish my mom would have kept some of her new wave stuff from the 80s. She had a pair of Ray Bans and got rid of them! IT is really hard for me to part with clothes the majority of the time.

Haha oh man, I am such a pack rat. I just can't bear to let stuff go because I'm constantly thinking "What if some random event comes up and this would be the perfect thing, but I won't have it cause I got rid of it!?" Yeah, my closet is stuffed...

Also, I have trouble throwing things away. I keep everything unless it no longer fits, really worn out, or damaged. lol Even if I don't wear it I still keep it because I tell myself "one day I'll need it".. it sucks because it does take space! But I did recently clean up a bit :)

You can always pull off any outfit! ;) & I agree that a belt will add shape to any loose fitting dress or shirt.
You're kinda like my sister LOL ...she likes to keep things that she hasn't used for yrs! She said she might need it sometime in the future but the problem is she's running out of space in her rm!
I guess if the item is still in good condition & of value, & you have the space, of course keep it. Otherwise, I think it should be donated or something LOL... In your case, a belt doesn't take up too much space so it's all good! ;p
